My own idea- Research.

As a group we've made a decision of what our opening sequence will be about; However as well as making a decision, we also had very different ideas of our own.

We're going with the culture/religion which clashes within popularity and school. But if I was to make my own film, on my own terms, it may have been a lot different.

My initial idea was for tow sub-genres to crash, like horror and love or popularity and friendship. For example, the main themes in mean girls, is popularity, young love, bullying, rebellion, and Lies.
Here is a trailer of the film:

In my opinion, I think it's a great plot, it's realistic in terms of how college/ school is run. They have hierarchy's which base on how students interact with  each other.

As much as I love Chick-Flicks and comedy, I find horror/sci-fi teen films the best. They are able to get a distinctive story line which is not shown to be as cliche like comedy, as comedy and romance always have similar story lines, which makes it very predictable.
Another example I can give which is a predictable teen movie is  Step up.

If I was to produce the film and come up with a storyline, mine wouldn't be as cliche. It may not even involve young. Even though it's the most comment type of  sub genre, it's used too much, and people may not want to watch it.
I would either make a film that's inspirational like Freedom Writers.
It's How a Teacher and 150 Teens Used Writing to
Change Themselves and the World Around Them. The story may sound a bit complicated but, it is worth watching. There are a lot of troubled teens, each of them has experienced things, bad things, which makes them who they are; either if their a bully, or being bullied. The surrounding made them become like that, their family their friends. It's how the the young lives of students changes because of that one teacher who makes them see sense that everyone's the same and that everyone should be friends with each other. The teacher itself is an important part of the film, she makes them believe in themselves and have faith  which is what every teacher should do.

I love inspirational films, they make you think in more depth. As well those films, I love sci-fi films and Horror films; those are far by the best.  Films like Haunt- which comes out this year and other films like The prom night are really good horror films for teens.

If this was my own movie, it would be based on Horror.
If I was to do a pitch from my own idea of the film, this is how it would look like:

Pitch for “From the corner of your eye”
Imagine, when a family of 5, moved into an 18th century country home, is haunted by their own past, photographs have been found, but was this a good idea to help uncover their future?
Tragic deaths of their loved ones faced them to pay the consequences.
What trickery was this? Only to find a home which has been in their family for centuries, resulting to a life time of misery.

“From the corner of your eye” will appeal to males and females, aged 15-30. The genre will be horror/thriller which will appeal to my target audience, as friends can gather around, to solve potentially a murder case, frightful scenes and interesting story lines will effectively scare the audience, due to being based on a true story. The explicit, terrifying narrative will take the audience through a mind blowing journey. This will appeal to my target audience as mostly males and some females are more likely to be comfortable, with the levels of horror. The film will be set in Ealing, England in an old country home; this is where the family move in. There will also be circumstances where the scenes will be deducted in a basement as this is the key part of the movie; this is where the mum (melody pond) discovers the hidden chest.
The chosen actors and actresses are Collin Firth as Patrick evens (father), as he is a well known British actor, he will attract a larger audience as he has played roles in a significant amount of films, e.g. “The kings speech and Nannee McPhee”, he is bankable and well know, and is also the protagonist in most films. Alex Kingston as melody pond as the mum, she is widely known due to being on Doctor who, Karren Gillan as Amy Evans the sister, she was a former companion of doctor who and has also been on my other films e.g. “we’ll take Manhattan”. Asa Butterfield as Jonathan Evans (the brother), he is widely known, as he is a young feisty actor, he has currently been in the hit TV series “Merlin”, and also played in other films, such as “ The boy in striped pyjamas”, as Bruno, and “Hugo”. And John bell as Arthur Evans (the youngest brother). “From the corner of your eye” will be similar in narrative to the horror films, “Insidious” and “Sinister”, as they both have a similar story line- both at which have been box office successes. Because of its low budget, I would release “From the corner of your eye” to art house to minimize the risk of failing.
